Gurnee Il So Much to Offer
As a longtime resident of Gurnee, I have seen this amazing town grow in so many ways. It went from mostly cornfields to robust economic development with the opening of Gurnee Mills in 1991, which brought with it new residential communities and vibrant entertainment. Along the stretch of Grand Ave., the main road leading to the majority of subdivisions, you’ll find robust restaurant choices along with Six Flags Great America that not only is home to spectacular roller coaster rides, but also a waterpark that can keep all family members entertained all day long. And let’s not forget the newly renovated indoor water park Great Wolf Lodge – a ton of excitement packed into a community that feels big but has a small-town vibe.
While those are just a few of the big highlights on how the Village of Gurnee does an exceptional proactively bolstering our economic development, they also focus on serving the community well through the Gurnee Park District. As a child, I attended day camp each year and later on, started working as a camp counselor. And not only are the parks beautiful and family-oriented, the Park District served as the foundation of good work habits. For more information, check out a list of their programs here.
The Gurnee school districts are also superior, with Warren Township High School rated as an A. For more information on elementary and middle schools, visit Niche.com. And for those who have children that love to play sports, Gurnee offers many after-school activities at the Gurnee Park District andWarren Township center. My top picks are the Warren Youth Football and the Gurnee American Legion baseball programs. Both of which I participated as a kid.

Real Estate is always changing. One year it may be a seller’s market, the next it may turn to a buyers market. In a sellers’ market (good for sellers), there is typically a low volume of listed properties and a high volume of buyers. A buyers market is just the opposite. Research is the most important aspect when selling or purchasing a home.
