What an Early Spring Market Means for Buyers and Sellers
If you’ve been looking for a home in the Chicago area recently, have you noticed that your list of favorites keeps shrinking?
That’s what we’re seeing in the current market. Many buyers save the homes they’re most interested in to their favorites list but thanks to low inventory in our market, that list gets smaller and smaller each day. Inventory is getting lower and lower, too. Not much inventory is going back on the market, and the existing inventory is starting to get multiple offers.
As of February, the market has already heated up. If you’re on the sideline thinking about selling or buying a house, it’s time to get moving. I think it’s going to get crazy starting in the spring, and the summer will be even crazier.
We’re already seeing multiple offers on homes at this point, and we’re in a spot (January through March) that’s usually the slowest part of the season. If you’re thinking about making a move, start looking now. Spring has sprung!
